Tholian Orb Weaver
- This page is for the playable ship. See Tholian Orb Weaver (Mob) for the NPC ship.
The Tholian Orb Weaver comes with a [Console - Universal - Tholian Web Generator], which creates a web around a target, preventing them from moving outside the web, and can crush the ship if not escaped from.
The Tholian Orb Weaver also comes with a [Thermionic Torpedo Launcher], which has a chance to drain weapon and engine power from a target.

Overview[edit | edit source]
Recent conflicts with the Tholian Assembly have resulted in a handful of captured Tholian vessels. Tholian technology is very different from other Alpha Quadrant powers, and these vessels are prized as opportunities for study as well as new combat vessels. The Tholians' natural environment is hostile to most humanoids, and their ship interiors were designed to support that environment. Much effort has gone into simply modifying the interiors to let personnel board these vessels without environmental suits.
The Orb Weaver comes with a Tholian Web Generator console. This console allows you to create an energy web around your target, capturing and eventually crushing them. The Tholian Web Generator can be equipped in any console slot, but only on the Tholian Orb Weaver or the Tholian Recluse Carrier.
Performance[edit | edit source]
As a science vessel, the Tholian Orb Weaver is equipped extremely well for Science captains, and the Bridge Officer layout makes it an ideal healer or crowd control ship. Because of this and the console layout the ship performs similarly to the Deep Space Science Vessel, making it ideal for PvE as well as Strategic Task Force Missions (STFs). In PvP situations the ship has an average performance, but this can vary vastly depending on how the player sets up the ship in terms of weapons, gear, and Boff/Captain powers and abilities.
The Tholian Web Generator can give a potentially huge disadvantage to any ships inside the web; however the Web Generator is known to have a fairly high fail rate, especially for multiple or fast moving targets, but is great against slow moving targets or ships very close together. The Tholian Web Generator will always fail when trying to ensnare a big target such as a Borg Cube or a Borg Tactical Cube.

Standard Configuration[edit | edit source]
These starships come with standard equipment and weapons of the lowest mark available at the ship's minimum rank. The items provided are appropriate to the type of vessel and its related playing style.
Abilities[edit | edit source]
Science vessels come with built-in abilities. These abilities do not automatically rank up when acquiring higher tier Science starships and must be gained through Tactical Space Bridge officer abilities.

- Sensor Analysis
After activating a subsystem targeting ability, the player will have 30 seconds to attack an enemy ship with any form of beam weapon. The attack will lower power to that system, and have a small chance of completely taking the system offline. If the system is taken offline it renders all abilities that use that subsystem temporarily inert. For example, if you target the shields and subsequently take them offline, then all of the enemies shield facings will go down.
The Sensor Analysis passive ability grants the player a stacking damage bonus of 3.33% per minute against a single target whilst the player maintains target lock on an enemy. Once the player switches targets the bonus is reset.
