Tetryon Dual Heavy Cannons are burst energy weapons available for all faction starships. They are similar to Dual Cannons, however they deliver greater damage in a single burst, but have the same Damage Per Second (DPS) as regular Dual Cannons. They are only mountable in forward weapon slots.

Most Klingon Defense Force ships can mount Dual Heavy Cannons, however for the Federation, only Escorts and the Dreadnought Cruiser can mount these weapons.

Tetryon energy beams are blue in color. Tetryon weapons are used heavily by the Hirogen. Tetryons are subatomic particles that exist outside of normal space. When brought into normal space from subspace (artificially or naturally) they become highly unstable.

Tetryon weapons are not available to players before Mk VI.

In space combat, Tetryon weapons have a 2.5% chance to cause extra damage shields. Dual Heavy Cannons also come with a natural +10 Critical Hit Severity bonus.

Modifiers

There are several factors that can affect weapon performance. These include modifier suffixes, weapon power, spent player skill points, consoles, and equipment set bonuses.

Modifier Suffix

Uncommon Tetryon Dual Heavy Cannonss will have one modifier suffix, Rare will have two and Very Rare will have three. The same modifiers may appear multiple times (e.g. [Acc]x2, [Cap]x3, etc.).

• Borg: X% chance: X Radiation Damage vs Borg NPCs
