Science officers are essential to Starfleet's missions of exploration and diplomacy. They research, heal and innovate, using their knowledge and creativity to assist captain and crew. They can utilize technology to control and evade enemies, ensnare an enemy ship with a tractor beam, find cloaked ships, and even use holoprojectors to confuse enemies.

There are 3 science careers to choose from. Researcher (group buffs and debuffs), Scientist (single person buffs and debuffs), and Doctor (player heals).
[edit] Researcher
Focuses on group debuffs, and buffs. Uses emitters to do this. A researcher is especially helpful in large fleet actions and other pvp opportunities. Their ability to buff a large group also allows them to buff your Bridge Officers.

Focuses on single person buffs, and debuffs.

Heals other players.

[edit] Abilities
Personal abilities are ground and space based. Your characters personal ground skills depend on what type of kit you are using. The space abilities that your Captain can use are listed on the Player ability article. For a list of abilities that your Science bridge officers can use see the Bridge officer abilities article.

Science officers have four unique traits available, in addition to the normal traits for their species.
- 24px Conservation of Energy: +Exotic Damage.
- 24px Photonic Capacitor: Reduces Photonic Fleet Cooldown
- 24px Field Researcher: +Damage to Debuffed targets.
- 24px Medical Vanguard: Your Buffs and Heals now also strengthen Shields.
