The Risian Corvette comes with a [Console - Universal - Subspace Wake Generator], allowing the ship to have a burst of near-warp speeds for a short period of time. The subspace wake left behind the ship when active will inhibit an enemy ship's speed and turn rate, as well as hull distortions to the infrastructure.
The Risian Corvette also comes with an innate Defense bonus based on the ship's speed, granting a Defense bonus up to +15%.
Players can choose between R.X.S. or their faction's native prefix.
Obtaining[edit | edit source]
These ships were available from the Risa Lohlunat Festival event that took place between June 27th 2013 and August 15th 2013. It was purchasable for 1,000 [Risian Lohlunat Pearl]s. But with the new changes in 2014 Lohlunat Festival , Risian Corvette can be obtained for 40 [Risian Lohlunat Pearl] , if you have done the event last year . This means that you get account wide discount , and it doesn't matter on what character you have the Corvette, or on what allegiance it belongs .
The pearls were obtainable by:
- Taking part in 25 daily “Flying High” mini event (40 pearls per mission - available until August 4th).
- Purchasing a pack from the Lobi Store for 5 Lobi Crystals.
- Grants between 2 - 6 Pearls.
Overview[edit | edit source]
The Risian corvette was initially designed as a racing ship for entertainment purposes. The ship's incredible speed and maneuverability drew the interest of the Lobi Crystal Consortium, who purchased the rights to manufacture armed versions of the vessel. There's a long waiting list for ships from the first Lobi production run of Risian corvettes, and deep space explorers and hotshot pilots traveling through more dangerous areas of space will often put a deposit down months in advance for the chance to acquire one.
This agile ship was designed with one purpose in mind: speed. As such, it is capable of overcharging most standard engines to achieve speeds that other vessels could never hope to match. Its EPS manifolds are custom tailored to bring extra Engine energy to bear, and its sleek design allows for a smaller sensor shadow making it more difficult for enemy weapons to lock on while traveling at high speeds.
Variants[edit | edit source]
Risian corvette[edit | edit source]
The Risian corvette has the most color and pattern variants of any ship in the game, with a number of custom paint patterns available in addition to the standard ones for all ships. Unusually, players are also able to customize the "glow" color of the warp nacelles.
Performance[edit | edit source]
Fittingly for a racing ship, the Risian corvette is easily among the most maneuverable ships in the game, with a turn rate faster than of any "native" Federation or Romulan vessel and exceeded only by Raider-class ships. Its natural bonus to engine power also ensures it can maintain a relatively high level of maneuverability even while power is diverted to other systems during combat. However, like a Bird-of-Prey, the Risian corvette suffers from a low base hull health, and is fragile once its shields are taken down.
Its Bridge Officer layout allows for the use of advanced Engineering abilities like Eject Warp Plasma (especially useful considering the corvette's speed), though its ability to deploy science powers is limited, as the only native science station is Ensign-rank, and its Universal station is only Lieutenant-rank. Tactical Commander and Lieutenant stations cement the corvette's standing as an escort.
