[edit] Store Description
After Starfleet starships were converted to a modular design, a group from the Starfleet Corps of Engineers working at Utopia Planitia wondered if vessels from the Federation's past could be constructed in this manner. Working with Federation historian Geoffrey Pacelli, the SCE officers chose the famed NX Class for reconstruction. The NX Class Starship Replica sports the classic look of Earth's starships from the 22nd century, but has been updated with modern technology to meet current Starfleet specifications for Lieutenant-rank missions. It carries a crew of 85, and in a nod to the technology of the 22nd Century the SCE has added a Grappler, which is less efficient than a tractor beam but can hold an enemy for a short time. Note: Purchasing this ship from the C-Store unlocks it for all Federation characters on an account.
[edit] Variants
[edit] NX class
The NX class starship is one of the first Starfleet designs to use the iconic saucer-shaped primary hull design that is used by many Starfleet vessels today.First launched in 2151, the NX class was humanity's first warp-5 capable vessel. Its first and most famous ship, the Enterprise (NX-01), was instrumental in defending Earth from a Xindi invasion, cementing early relations with other races, encountering new races and civilizations, and played a key part in the founding of the United Federation of Planets.
Note that this vessel has no customizable ship parts. Only the windows, hull type, paint jobs, and interiors are customizable.

[edit] Abilities
This vessel comes with a built-in ability, a grappler that acts similarly to a tractor beam. The grappler comes in the form of a console that can be removed and equipped on any vessel.
[edit] Performance
The NX-class Light Escort is a great alternative to the basic light cruiser starter ship, as it has a noticeably higher turn rate and an extra Tactical console slot. The Grappler ability is similar to Tractor Beam and proves very useful in both offensive and defensive roles. The slightly weaker shields and reduced crew are the price Escort captains pay for their abilities.
Compared to higher tier Escort starships, the NX Class has a shield modifier of 1, as opposed to 0.9, making the shields comparable to a Cruiser.
For new players at the Lieutenant rank, this vessel is an excellent choice, and will help the new player rise through the first ten ranks quickly.

[edit] Notes
- In Season 5, the NX Class Light Escort was discounted to 240
before being raised to 400
for the Free-to-Play update.
- The ship tends to vibrate when traveling at warp speeds faster than warp 5. (The effect is noticeable when zooming out - it becomes very noticeable when reaching warp speeds faster than Warp 10.) Whether this is intentional or a bug is not known.
- The "U.S.S." prefix can be removed from the ship, in the latest version of Tribble test servers.
