Fleet Research Science Vessel Retrofit
The Fleet Research Science Vessel Retrofit is an Admiral (Tier 5) level Federation Science Vessel. Players can obtain the vessel through the Shipyard for 20,000 and 4 , as long as the player's Fleet has a Tier I shipyard.
All three classes of the Research Science Vessel are very distinct in appearance. Most Starfleet vessels have a saucer-shaped primary hull. However, these vessels have a spherical "saucer section" that isn't actually saucer-shaped. The nacelles are also very long, typically spanning the full length of the secondary hull.
This is a retrofit version of the Commander level Research Science Vessel.
Variants[edit | edit source]
Olympic class[edit | edit source]Olympic class was initially designed as a hospital ship capable of warp 13, (see TNG: All Good Things, USS Pasteur) but was refitted for service in general scientific missions. The Olympic class is the smallest of the three Research Science Vessels. The U.S.S. Seacole is an example of this class of ship. The Olympic class also resembles a Daedalus class medical science vessel out of Star Trek: Enterprise.

Performance[edit | edit source]
With a Lt.Commander Engineering Boff and 4 Engineering consoles, the Fleet Research Science Vessel Retrofit gives a good balance of Science and Engineering. While not the equal of the Fleet Advanced Research Vessel Retrofit in durability due to its low Hull strength, and suffering from lack of Universal Boff slots, the ship still has the ability to equip high level Science abilities while being quite durable, especially considering the ship's innate bonus crew recovery rate. The Fleet Research Science Vessel Retrofit is best positioned as an all-rounder - able to do team-healing, self-healing or inflicting damage with its Science abilities.

Standard Configuration[edit | edit source]
Federation starships come with standard equipment and weapons of the lowest mark available at the ship's minimum rank. The items provided are appropriate to the type of vessel and its related playing style.
Abilities[edit | edit source]
Federation Science vessels come with built-in abilities. These abilities do not automatically rank up when acquiring higher tier Science starships and must be gained through Tactical Space Bridge officer abilities.
- Beam Target Auxiliary Subsystems I
- Beam Target Weapons Subsystems I
- Beam Target Engines Subsystems I
- Beam Target Shields Subsystems I
- Sensor Analysis
After activating a subsystem targeting ability, the player will have 30 seconds to attack an enemy ship with any form of beam weapon. The attack will lower power to that system, and have a small chance of completely taking the system offline. If the system is taken offline it renders all abilities that use that subsystem temporarily inert. For example, if you target the shields and subsequently take them offline, then all of the enemies shield facings will go down.
The Sensor Analysis passive ability grants the player a stacking damage bonus of 3.33% per minute against a single target whilst the player maintains target lock on an enemy. Once the player switches targets the bonus is reset.
