Fleet Research Science Vessel Retrofit
The Fleet Research Science Vessel Retrofit is an Admiral (Tier 5) level Federation Science Vessel. Players can obtain the vessel through the Shipyard for 20,000 and 4 , as long as the player's Fleet has a Tier I shipyard.
All three classes of the Research Science Vessel are very distinct in appearance. Most Starfleet vessels have a saucer-shaped primary hull. However, these vessels have a spherical "saucer section" that isn't actually saucer-shaped. The nacelles are also very long, typically spanning the full length of the secondary hull.

Olympic class[edit | edit source]Olympic class was initially designed as a hospital ship capable of warp 13, but was refitted for service in general scientific missions. The Olympic class is the smallest of the three Research Science Vessels. The U.S.S. Pasteur is an example of this class of ship.

Subsystem Targeting[edit source]
Science Vessels come with built-in subsystem targeting abilities. These abilities do not automatically rank up when acquiring higher tier Science starships and must be gained through Tactical Space Bridge officer abilities.

After activating a subsystem targeting ability, the player has 30 seconds to attack an enemy ship with any form of beam weapon. The attack will lower power to the selected system, and have a small chance of completely taking the system offline. If the system is taken offline, all abilities that use that subsystem will temporarily be rendered inert (for example, if the player targets shields and subsequently takes them offline, then all of the enemies shield facings will go down as well).
Sensor Analysis[edit source]
Sensor Analysis is an active toggle ability. While maintaining a Sensor Lock on a target, the player gains a stacking effect that either improves the damage and power drain against an enemy, or improves any heal directed towards an ally. This effect stacks every 3 seconds, to a maximum of 6 stacks after 18 continuous seconds. To maintain the desired effect, the player must hold the sensor lock.

Federation starships come with standard equipment and weapons of the lowest mark available at the ship's minimum rank. The items provided are appropriate to the type of vessel and its related playing style.
