The Fleet Exploration Cruiser Retrofit is an Admiral (Tier 5) level Federation Cruiser vessel. Players can obtain the vessel through the Shipyard for 20,000 and 4 , as long as the player's Fleet has a Tier IV shipyard. This Retrofit vessel is a heavily modified version of the (Tier 4) Exploration Cruiser. Starfleet upgraded this vessel with the latest standard equipment used in the early 25th century.

The Fleet Exploration Cruiser Retrofit is also able to use the [Console - Universal - Saucer Separation] that is obtained from the Exploration Cruiser Retrofit.

Variants

Galaxy class

Galaxy class

Starfleet's top-of-the-line vessel in the mid-24th century. The Galaxy class was made popular by the multiple-award winning series, Star Trek: The Next Generation where the most notable ship of its type was the Enterprise-D. This is the shortest Exploration Cruiser variant, but arguably the most iconic.

Monarch class

Monarch class

Though similar in layout to the Galaxy, the Monarch Class takes on harder edges, banked nacelles, and other structural changes throughout the spaceframe, incorporating lessons learned from its older siblings' 50 years of service.

Venture class

Venture class

This is an extra add-on available after purchasing the Exploration Cruiser Refit from the C-Store for 1,500. Based on the Galaxy class design, the Venture Class represents the pinnacle of Starship design. It has a longer more swept neck, and a more faceted main deflector. It also bears details reminiscent of the Sovereign class, such as the raised V-shaped platform on the primary hull detail, and a whiter-colored hull with darker markings.

Performance

The Fleet Exploration Cruiser Retrofit can be a very durable cruiser, and difficult to destroy if properly equipped. Its great Engineering bridge officer capabilities, along with five engineering consoles, offers huge defensive potential for the vessel. If properly set up, the Fleet Galaxy can be an effective tanker and healer - being able to do both at the same time.

Alternatively, successful offensive builds have been seen to work, however it is not recommended for inexperienced players.

Note

As of Season 7, among all starships playable by Federation characters in Star Trek Online, the Fleet Exploration Cruiser Retrofit's hull value is second only to the Jem’Hadar Dreadnought Carrier obtainable through the Lobi Crystal store.
