Aside from regular seasonal content releases, most content drops in Star Trek Online consist of regularly occurring Events. They are windows of opportunity during which players either gain discounts on items, bonuses when completing specific tasks, or gain access to certain content, whether that be limited-time content, or item rewards and unlocks.

Note that the below durations are typically how these events are ran, sometimes they can be week or month long events. Although they are recurring, there is no pre-defined order.

Sale/discount events[ | ]

Sales in Star Trek Online are constantly occurring, frequent, but usually announced with no prior notice, on the day of the sale. They may also be unannounced.

Some sales periods, such as initial launch discounts for Legendary starship bundles, may never be repeated again. This is a sales practice known as "fear of missing out". Zen Store sales encompass a wide variety of items, such as Mudd's Market bundles, ships, costumes, and more. These sales range anywhere from 4 days (weekend sales) or 2 weeks (launch promotions or holiday sales). For holiday sales, the entire Zen Store may be discounted (20% - 30% off). Flash Sales can also occur, these sales only occur on weekends and typically only for 48 hours. Sale windows are valued as typically the best and only time a player should consider purchasing an item. Below are examples of sales that have occurred in the past:
