D'deridex Warbird Battle Cruiser
- This article is about the playable ship. For the NPC vessel see D'deridex Battleship.
This vessel was the foundation of the Romulan Star Empire's forces in the 24th Century. Drastically heavier than the T'liss and Dhelan models, the D'deridex is significantly more resilient and carries firepower comparable to a Federation Galaxy class starship.
 D'deridex class
The D'Deridex-class Romulan Warbird is the same type as seen in Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and in episodes of Star Trek: Voyager. Measuring over 1300 meters in length, and easily dwarfing Starfleet's Galaxy-class starships, the D'Deridex-class is one of the largest and most powerful vessels used by the Romulan Star Empire. The D'Deridex-class has been at the forefront of Romulan contact with other species, and acted as battleships during the Dominion War of 2373-2375.
 D'ridthau class
This variant of D'Deridex is more compressed but still quite large. There's a distinctive wing pattern that spans the hull and a much longer nose. The nacelles are twice as long and the ship sports two more nacelle-like devices at its rear base. This variant can be purchased from the C-Store for 1,500 .
Where preceding ships like the Dhelan and Mogai strongly resemble Escorts in their playstyle, the D'deridex class (commonly dubbed the "Double-D" by players) is more similar to other faction Cruisers such as the Galaxy or the Bortas. Those who've flown those Cruisers instantly know that they're powerful and durable ships - but extremely slow turners with an average Turn Rate of 5, and the D'deridex follows this pattern exactly. An RCS Accelerator can help increase the turn rate on this ship but that slot can be used for more effective offensive or defensive capability.
The D'deridex can be skewed more toward Science powers but Cruiser methods still apply. Broadsiding with Beams is more effective than Cannons or Dual Beam Banks as there's just not enough time to spin forward to point those guns at your enemy before they outmaneuver you. Recent changes to the arc at which Science abilities can fire complements this ship greatly and gives it more utility than full Engineering powers which are more defensive in nature.

 Standard Configuration
Romulan Warbirds come with standard equipment and weapons of the lowest mark available at the ship's minimum rank. The items provided are appropriate to the type of vessel and its related playing style.
All Romulan Warbirds are equipped with an advanced version of the cloaking device, a battle cloak, that can be activated while at Red Alert, giving the D'deridex Warbird Battle Cruiser a significant advantage.
Romulan Warbirds come with built-in Singularity abilities. These abilities do not automatically rank up when acquiring higher tier Warbirds. These powers build in severity based on the charge built up by the ship's Singularity Core.
