Description[edit | edit source]
In 2375, the Breen first entered the Dominion War at the Second Battle of Chin'toka. It was in this terrible battle that the Breen's power and ruthlessness was first observed. The Second Battle of Chin'toka was the worst defeat for the Federation alliance and over 99 percent of allied ships were lost, including the U.S.S. Defiant.
This battle was the first time the Alliance had faced the Breen Energy Dissipator - also known as an Energy Dampening weapon. This single piece of technology almost allowed the Dominion forces to win the war and the Alpha Quadrant. But even without the Energy Dissipator, the Breen Chel Grett is a formidable Warship, and it is extremely maneuverable for its size.
Variants[edit | edit source]
Breen Chel Grett Warship[edit | edit source]
The Breen Chel Grett Warship is the backbone of the Breen fleet, and played a powerful role in the latter stages of the Dominion War. Its appearance is largely unchanged from that period, and differs from the designs of many other species in its asymmetrical layout.
The main hull consists of multiple blade-like hulls fitted in an overlapping manner to a central perpendicular "wing". The largest of these "blades" is located towards the port side of the wing, and curves towards the center line. Shorter hull blades are mounted on the starboard wing, also curving towards the center line to form a vague "C"-shaped profile when viewed from above.
Impulse engine outlets and Bussard collectors are mounted at various points on the hull, and the main deflector is slung beneath the central wing. Visible weapon hardpoints are mounted on the forward "tips" of the blades, providing cannon and beam ports.
Abilities[edit | edit source]
Console[edit | edit source]
The Breen Chel Grett Warship comes equipped with a [Console - Universal - Breen Energy Dissipator] which fires a targetable Energy Dissipating Blast that causes significant subsystem drain and has a chance to knock a single subsystem offline for a short duration. This console can be equipped in any console slot on any Breen ship.

Standard configuration[edit | edit source]
Performance[edit | edit source]
Remarkably manueverable for its size, the Chel Grett is well suited for offensive roles usually filled by Escorts and Raptors and having durability rivaling many Battle Cruiser-class ships. The Chel Grett's main claim to fame as a Warship is its Cruiser-like weapons arrangement, with four weapons in both the fore and aft quadrants. Combined with its relatively high maneuverability (similar to a Heavy Destroyer) and Tactical-focused bridge officer and console layout, the Chel Grett can put out withering amounts of fire. A Lieutenant Commander-level Science bridge station also allows it access to potent crowd-control abilities like Ability: Gravity Well to further augment its damage output.
In exchange for this offensive strength, the Warship sacrifices some healing and support abilities, particularly in Engineering, with its single lieutenant engineering station. The warship also maintains an Ensign universal station, but any other choice but engineering for this station risks further compromising the Chel Grett's ability to heal itself or its allies.
