The Assault Cruiser is an Admiral (Tier 5) level Federation Cruiser. Like all Cruisers, bar the Light Cruiser, they also enjoy a bonus to their subsystem power granting +5 to Weapons, Engines, Shields and Auxiliary. The most well known Assault Cruiser is the U.S.S. Enterprise-E which was commanded by former Captain made Ambassador Jean-Luc Picard. As of 2408 she was commanded by Captain Data.

[edit] Variants
[edit] Sovereign class
The Sovereign class is the class of vessels that includes the Enterprise-E. The Sovereign has an elongated saucer section connected to the main hull with a streamlined and interconnected neck area. The main hull has two up-swept pylons attached to it which lead to the ships nacelles.[edit] Majestic class
The Majestic is the longest of all four Assault Cruisers, although only due to its nacelles having a spiked edge at the aft section. The design is otherwise quite typical of a Cruiser. In terms of complexity of design, it is not as smooth as the Sovereign, but not as rugged as the Noble. It also shares several design features with the NPC Typhoon Class Battleship, such as the design of the saucer section and nacelle pylons.[edit] Noble class
This model is similar in design to the Sovereign. It has a bigger and more circular saucer section of the hull. The main hull is smaller than both the Majestic and Sovereign. It also has two up-swept pylons connecting the nacelles at roughly a 45 degree angle. Both the saucer and main hull are quite rugged in design compared to the other two types.[edit] Imperial class
The Imperial Class is a variant of the Sovereign Class. It's most notable for the prominent build up along the upper surface of the neck and rear of the saucer section. Its saucer is notably thinner than any other Assault Cruiser. The pylons are also very rigid and nacelles are placed very forward on the design. This class was previously available as an extra ship skin at the C-Store, but as of Season 7 is exclusive to the Fleet Assault Cruiser. Players who purchased the skin prior to the Season 7 update may still use the Imperial skin on any Assault Cruisers or Assault Cruiser Refits they own.
[edit] Performance
The Assault Cruiser is a very powerful ship and a formidable adversary for any player. They carry huge amounts of firepower with their 8 weapon slots (4 aft, 4 fore). This can also have a negative twist as 8 weapons can drain weapon subsystem power very quickly if weapons aren't carefully chosen or/and an EPS Flow Regulator Engineering console isn't used. They have very poor maneuverability and are the second slowest of all of the Federations starships at turning and coming to a dead-stop, but with a proper weapon setup they don't rely on it as much as other vessels.
Assault Cruisers have a good sized crew which helps with repair rates of the hull. In terms of hull they are tied at third strongest hull in the Federation fleet, alongside Star Cruisers and have good shields.
In comparison to the Star Cruiser, which is the other Admiral Tier 5 level Cruiser for the Federation, they have one less Science station, one extra Tactical station and 200 less crew.
