Advanced Obelisk Carrier
The Advanced Obelisk Carrier is an Admiral (Tier 5) an engineering-centric carrier with very high hull strength and an abundant amount of seating for engineering bridge officers and engineering consoles. Among the largest playable starships in Star Trek Online, this hulking carrier comes equipped with Obelisk Swarmer hangar pets in its two hangar bays.
The Advanced Obelisk Carrier comes with a [Console - Universal - Reactive Antiproton Cascade Emitter], which overrides the sensors of the player's target (and enemies near the player's target), forcing them to target the player's ship for a short period of time (only applicable in PvE). During this time, the player's ship gains a large damage resistance and shield hardening increase and after a short time the player will counter enemy energy attacks with a potent defensive system that fires bursts of Antiproton energy at attacking vessels.

Overview[edit | edit source]
This strange and powerful ship is from an ancient culture that has had limited contact with the Alpha Quadrant. Although the ship is not Elachi in design, it shares enough similarities with their technology to have a common origin.
This ship can launch attack wings of Obelisk Swarmers in its standard configuration, though other craft can be equipped to be launched. The carrier can also give commands to those craft to order them to attack or defend selected targets. Advanced and Elite versions of these fighters, which can be equipped on any ship with a hangar bay, can be purchased by advancing the Spire Fleet Holding.
Performance[edit | edit source]
Where other Carriers tend to be pure support ships (like the Caitian Atrox Carrier or Vo'Quv Carrier) or damage dealers (like the Jem'Hadar Dreadnought Carrier or Kar'Fi Battle Carrier), the Advanced Obelisk Carrier is a mix of Tank and Science themed support ship. With the highest hull strength in the game (as of May 2014) and 5 Engineering consoles to boot, the Obelisk can shrug off unbelievable amounts of damage, allowing it to survive even the harshest of enemy fire. At the same time, with a Lt. Commander Science and 3 Science consoles, the ship does a good job as a team healer/support ship, especially in PvE and team PvP missions. It can use its hangar bays in this manner to create additional support for teammates/pressure on enemies, inflicting low-to-medium DPS with its Obelisk Swarmers.

Standard Configuration[edit | edit source]
Carrier starships come with standard equipment and weapons of the lowest mark available at the ship's minimum rank. The items provided are appropriate to the type of vessel and its related playing style.
Abilities[edit | edit source]
Carriers come with built-in abilities. These abilities do not automatically rank up.
- Beam Target Auxiliary Subsystems I
- Beam Target Weapons Subsystems I
- Beam Target Engines Subsystems I
- Beam Target Shields Subsystems I
After activating a subsystem targeting ability, the player will have 30 seconds to attack an enemy ship with any form of beam weapon. The attack will lower power to that system, and have a small chance of completely taking the system offline. If the system is taken offline it renders all abilities that use that subsystem temporarily inert. For example, if you target the shields and subsequently take them offline, then all of the enemies shield facings will go down.
