Ability: Grappler

The Grappler is an unique ability that comes with the NX Class Light Escort. When the grappler is activated, a magnetic clamp attached to tow cable is fired from the ship towards the target. The grappler ensnares the target, preventing it from moving, and prevents it from cloaking. This ability is almost identical to Tractor Beam.

• Game Description Fires a clawed magnetic Grappler attached to a heavy nanopolymer tow cable. Once fired, the Grappler slows the target ship, thereby making it an easier target for weapons. Grappled targets cannot cloak. Although not as effective as a Tractor Beam, the engineers at Utopia Planitia felt it was important to include this device to all NX Replicas as standard issue for authenticity reasons. Increases in effectiveness based on current auxiliary power level and Starship Operation Training skill.
